🌎 Welcome to our channel! We’re Jennifer & Darryle two Canadians (plus our 15-year-old Maltese!) who moved to Mexico in 2021 and have been traveling the country ever since. n today’s vlog, we hop on our e-bikes in Mexico and head out for lunch at a local taco spot famous for its birria tacos. We ride through town, cross the highway, and cruise along the beach road on our way to Los Hijos del Maíz, a well-known Mexican street food stop loved by locals. When we arrive, we’re warmly greeted by a mother-and-daughter team who run the place. Their little girl, probably around three or four years old, brings us our menus with a shy smile and a playful slam on the table—a small but unforgettable moment that made us smile. They offer a birria taco combo that includes rich consommé, two large birria tacos, and a Coke, which I order. Jen goes with just the birria tacos, and of course, we share the consommé. We break down the price of our lunch, talk about the flavors, and share some info about birria tacos in Mexico and why this dish is so popular across the country. After eating, we jump back on our e-bikes and head toward the portside, soaking in the sights, sounds, and everyday life of this coastal Mexican town. We make a quick stop at the local grocery store to check if the man selling Christmas trees is still out front—sadly, he’s gone.
