Media Briefing: Officer-Involved Shooting in the 6000 block of Belarbor I Houston Police

Assistant Chief James Skelton provides an update on an officer-involved shooting that occurred in the 6000 block of Belarbor. Preliminary information: At approximately 10:25 am on Monday, March 9th, HPD received a call for assistance from Texas DPS regarding a barricaded suspect in a residence at the above address. The Texas Attorney General's Office and Harris County Constable Precinct 7 were serving a warrant for a parole violation. HPD arrived at 10:29 and initiated a SWAT activation. Representatives from the Attorney General's Office and SWAT negotiated with the suspect for about 90 minutes to no avail. At approximately 12:30 pm, the suspect came out of his house with a rifle and fired it. One SWAT officer fired his duty weapon, striking the suspect. The suspect was declared decased by HFD.
