Bon Jovi is one of the most successful rock bands in modern music history. Frontman Jon Bon Jovi, born John Francis Bongiovi Jr. on March 2, 1962, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, formed the band in 1983 in his home state. The classic lineup soon takes shape with Richie Sambora, David Bryan, Tico Torres and Alec John Such. The band broke worldwide in the mid-1980s with hits such as “Livin’ on a Prayer”, “You Give Love a Bad Name,” and “Wanted Dead or Alive.” Later successes include “Bad Medicine,” “It’s My Life” and “Always”. That 1994 power ballad became their biggest-selling single. “Always” tells the story of a love that refuses to fade after heartbreak. The song reaches number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number 2 in the UK, and tops charts in several countries worldwide. Bon Jovi sells over 130 million albums globally.
