A den of iniquity, in which the wildlife should be considered armed and dangerous. Australia is home to the world’s most toxic, venomous and dangerous creatures. From the oceans to the forest, swamps and deserts, it’s a continent teeming with a hugely disproportionate number of creatures that can envenomate, poison or maim. The tangled branches and gloomy undergrowth of Australia’s forests provide perfect hideouts... Shadows in which to lie in wait... And secret lairs from which to launch a lethal ambush. Amethystine Pythons throttle unwary victims high in the canopy, while Tiger Quolls and Tasmanian Devils spill blood on the forest floor below. But sometimes it’s the things that we can’t see that pose the greatest threat... Heinous creepy crawlies lurk in the shadows. Spiders, scorpions, and centipedes conceal deadly weapons... And in these parts, even the trees can sting burn, and kill. The continent’s sprawling wetlands, river systems and tributaries are no safer. Ancient predators rule the waterways. Saltwater Crocodiles can take down a one tonne buffalo with ease... Tiger Snakes and Water Pythons fiercely patrol the riverbanks...While devious assassins - like Archerfish and Tiger Leeches - wait for their moment to strike from below the murky surface. Perhaps, however, it is Australia’s most hostile of environments that has given rise to its most formidable killers. The continent’s arid interior is a dry and desolate wasteland, in which only the toughest survive. There are more reptiles in the Australian desert than anywhere else on earth. Lurking amongst them is a motley crew of devious assassins and cold-blooded killers. While the Inland Taipan wields one of the most lethal bites known to man, the crafty Death Adder lures unsuspecting victims to an early grave. But even these hardened killers need to be wary of the Perentie – a giant amongst lizards – and a snake’s worst nightmare. Fringing this vast island continent, the Australian coastline is a magnet for marine assassins of all shapes and sizes. Though they vary in appearance and tactics, they share one common trait. They are all exceptional killers. From the overwhelming power and fierce jaws of the Great White Shark, to the lethal tentacles of the tiny Irakundji Jellyfish, to the host of toxic terrors in between... The pristine waters of the Australian coastline conceal sinister undercurrents. A land of contradictions, Australia’s spectacular landscapes play host to some of the world’s deadliest creatures. 🌱 Subscribe for more videos! https://www.youtube.com/@UCQXXL5_LBz2vGU9ijpLfVzA Find us on social media!
