Description
*originally recorded on 1-20-26*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Siemens gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
On January 20th, I'd gone to the VBC for a meeting, and after that meeting, I decided to document a couple of upgrades in Huntsville. While I was out, I thought I heard an A81 heading west, so I decided to race over to downtown Madison to see if I could catch it. Instead, after a while of waiting, I was nearly snuck-up on by this loaded coal train that I hadn't even known was approaching. Either way, I was still able to catch my first, and best, train of the evening here: NS 732 with an H2 BNSF AC44EV leading an NS ES44AC on the head-end, and an H2 BNSF AC44CW and an H3 BNSF SD70ACe pushing on the rear as the trains DPUs!
Thankfully, as you can see, nothing major has changed to this crossing since I last recorded it back in May of last year, shortly after it'd been upgraded with the current signals. I will admit, I still do miss the classic SOU signals that had been here.
