A Pub Fight That Turned Into a Street Execution

In September 2014, 46-year-old Thomas Lamb was enjoying a night at a local pub in Edinburgh when a fight with three younger men set off a deadly chain of events. After leaving the bar, Thomas was followed home, where neighbors later witnessed him being brutally attacked in the street outside his house. The three men kicked and stomped on his head before stabbing him with both a knife and a pitchfork. Thomas was rushed to the hospital but died from catastrophic injuries, including wounds that pierced his aorta. Police quickly identified the attackers as brothers James and Paul Watson and their friend Gary Sim, all of whom had violent criminal histories. Evidence at trial included Thomas’ blood on their clothing and shoe prints on his face. The case was made even more tragic by the devastating losses already suffered by Thomas’ family in the years prior.
