2 Dead After Hoarding Collapse Amid Heavy Rain | Kanak News Shorts

Unseasonal heavy rain triggered by a low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal has led to a tragic incident in Bhubaneswar. A massive hoarding collapsed near a Durga Mandap in Aiginia area of the capital city, killing 2 people and damaging 5 to 6 shops. Police and Fire Services rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information. Rescue operations were carried out using gas cutters to remove the fallen hoarding. There are fears that more people may be trapped under the debris. The incident comes as moderate rainfall lashed Twin City Cuttack and Bhubaneswar due to the low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal. Strong winds along with rain were reported in several parts of the capital outskirts. Local MLA also reached the spot to assess the situation.
