Description

Every time I come back to Arizona, I get humbled in some way. Last time it was a lady throwing fruit at me onstage. This time it was a lesson I always seem to forget. On Saturday before the shows, stuttering took over everything once again… my speech, my body, my autonomy. It reminded me all over that I’m not better than anyone. Like I had to be broken down to reconnect with my real self. Sometimes I walk around with an ego in the space between these episodes where all I’m doing is assuring myself of exactly how important I am. Trying to impose my will on the universe and control, rather than submitting to what is. If you were at the shows this weekend, I just want to say thank you for your patience. Thank you for your unconditional grace. Thank you for giving me the space to be where I was. This clip is from a full circle moment from Saturday’s early show. Hard to believe before I went onstage that night, I was on the floor of the greenroom begging God to not put me through it because I didn’t want to subject people to my discomfort. If you’re reading this today, I just want to say I love you. And once again thank you Phoenix… for always being a hard lesson learned.
