Toledo Officers Shoot Suspect Pointing Shotgun at Them

* (Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Toledo, Ohio — On May 17, 2026, Toledo Police officers responded to a weapons call in the 3400 block of Coral Avenue. The caller reported that a male suspect was loading a shotgun while making threatening statements, including threats to kill multiple people. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Brandon Pechette, who was armed with a shotgun. Officers issued numerous verbal commands for the suspect to drop the weapon but he pointed it at police. During the encounter, officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, and the weapon was secured. Toledo Fire and Rescue responded and transported the suspect to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No officers were injured during the incident.
