Compiled as a documentary-style war progress update for US Navy personnel in 1943, "War on the Seas" is a surprisingly comprehensive summary of actions in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific Oceans up to that point. Cartoon-animated maps and graphics detail several of the major theatres and actions. And while some of the footage went on to be regularly reused, much was not.
