In this episode of Aussie Garage, we check out an awesome father vs son rivalry featuring two seriously cool Ford-powered machines. On one side we’ve got a 1970 ZC Fairlane T-Code running a 427 stroker Windsor V8, keeping that classic Aussie muscle car vibe alive. On the other side is a FG XR6 Turbo powered by the legendary Barra engine, pushing huge power and built for roll racing and drag racing. Carrie has owned the ZC Fairlane since 1989, restoring it in Polar White and keeping much of the car original on the outside, but under the bonnet is a 427 stroker Dart block V8, backed by an FMX gearbox and 9-inch diff. This big old cruiser even runs 11.6 seconds down the drag strip, which is seriously impressive for a full-size classic sedan. Meanwhile his son Jayden is running a monster FG XR6 Turbo Barra build, with a fully built engine capable of around 785 horsepower, Haltech management, upgraded fuel system and a built transmission. This modern Ford sleeper is built for roll racing and serious street performance. It’s the perfect old school vs new school Ford showdown, and more importantly a great story of father and son sharing their passion for cars.
