Description

This is the Nova LFS. A bus with a horrible and deserved reputation. Or is it? This platform has massively improved over the last decade, and there’s no better look at this transformation than the hybrid. The Gen III LFS was first shown in 2007 with very little changes to the front. The rear end, however, received a complete redesign to focus on standardization. The engine, cooling system, and other essential components are now where every other bus has their powertrain, making the model more attractive for customers. Here, in Vancouver, TransLink took a risk on the newfound improvements in NovaBus and ordered around 145 of the revised hybrid. These would arrive in 2009 and be deployed on a wide range of missions across Metro Vancouver. These were fine but needed improvements. Nova then released the Gen IV LFS in 2013, which looks less athletic than the previous gen but a massive gain in overall reliability, usability, and quality. In the hybrid’s case, it saw the biggest transformation of their existing variants.
