Israel shells Khan Younis to expand occupied areas in Gaza

Israeli forces carried out heavy artillery strikes on eastern Khan Younis in southern Gaza on June 8, using dozens of incendiary shells and tank fire. The attacks triggered widespread fires and were allegedly aimed at expanding Israeli control of the region. Despite a ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025, the Israeli forces has killed at least 961 Palestinians and injured over 3,000 others in attacks, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza.
