Description
The Desmosedici RR is one of the HOTTEST motorcycles for obvious reasons! Let us name a few.
It is widely renowned to be the “world's first MotoGP replica.” It all began in 2001 when Ducati announced one ambitious project: Debut of the Desmosedici in the MotoGP championship in 2003. It not only made its debut in 2003 but with Loris Capirossi aboard it, the Desmosedici clinched its first victory at the 2003 Catalunya GP.
Ducati followed it up with another banger of an announcement made in 2004, that they’re going to bring their MotoGP prototype to the streets and in 2006, it actually happened. Desmosedici RR broke cover as a limited-edition halo superbike which would get you closer to riding a MotoGP bike than any other motorcycle ever could. Limited to just 1500 units, years later, the Desmosedici RR has become a collector’s dream acquisition.
The numbers are staggering too, even more so when you consider that it broke cover two decades ago! It derived its raw performance from its 989cc Desmodromic 90° V4 engine putting down 200 HP. Dry weight? Just 171 kgs. Electronic aids? None, apaart from a shift light. Not even traction control.
Was it the peak of Ducati? What do you think?
