Ingredients
¼ cup margarine or butter
¼ cup honey or maple syrup
¾ cup peanut butter
4 cups marshmallows
5 cups Rice Krispies® cereal
1 ½ cups chocolate chips, divided
- Round red and green candies
- Pretzels, split in half
- Candy sticks
Directions
Add the butter/margarine, maple syrup/honey, peanut butter, and marshmallows to a large microwave safe bowl.
Heat on HIGH for 60-90 seconds or until melted and smooth.
Add the Rice Krispies® cereal and stir until well coated. Using damp hands, form the mixture into tight balls and secure a candy stick into each one.
Add 1 cup of chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl and heat on HIGH for 60-90 seconds until melted. Stir in the remaining ½ cup of chocolate chips and stir until melted.
Dip each ball into the melted chocolate until fully coated, gently shake off any excess.
While the chocolate is still soft, decorate with red and green chocolate candy to form the eyes and nose. Use halved pretzel twists or wafers to form the antlers. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
Recipe notes:
Poke holes in a block of foam to help hold the reindeer pops upright while the chocolate sets,
Split the pretzels in half on a cutting board with a sharp knife.
