Massive bone discovery - dinosaur-aged skeleton

Join me on a fossil hunting adventure along the New Zealand coast as I explore a new beach in search of ancient treasures. The first stop turns up no fossils, but it does deliver a few surprises, including a sweet monster truck and a young seal resting nearby. I then head to a Cretaceous beach, and this is where the day really takes off. Among the rocks, I find an incredible block containing associated fossil bones, and the preservation is amazing. These bones are in great condition and could belong to something very exciting from New Zealand’s ancient seas. The beach is full of life too, with a group of baby seals playing in a small pool, a weird starfish, and strange mushrooms growing from the cliff face. Later, Mesozoic marine reptile expert Alexander Melcher helps with identifying the fossil animal, and the result is even better than I hoped. A fossil hunt that started quietly turned into one of the most exciting finds I’ve had in a long time.
