Description
The Fraser & Tinne locomotive is a very obscure part of New Zealand's railway history, despite allegedly being the first locomotive built in this country. She originally worked on a tramway out of Grahamstown (now called 'Thames'), but later found her way to the Piha Tramway. She last ran in 1886, was abandoned at Karekare Beach and has since been completely buried by shifting sand dunes. She is still there at the beach to this day.
