Description
Welcome to a Rail Town Productions film, in this film we are featuring: the celebrations of 100 years of electric trains in Sydney, New South Wales. Back on the 1st March 1916 at 7:54am the first revenue electric passenger service in Sydney operated and operated between Central and Oatley. Oatley is between Hurstville and Sutherland on the Illawarra Line.
This electric trains used back then were similar to the type that was used to "re-enact" the first service. Using Historic Electric Traction/Sydney Trains' single decker wooden carriage four car set numbered F1. They ran five shuttles between suburban Central and Oatley and return. Sit back and enjoy the film; which also has a guest appearance of another heritage group. Enjoy!
