However, the purpose of a singing talent show like Pakistan Idol is to discover and evaluate vocal talent. This is where my main concern arises. Fawad Khan is not a professional singer. Yes, he has been part of a band in the past, but his main career, expertise, and recognition come from acting, not from singing or music composition. In my opinion, and in the opinion of many viewers, Pakistan Idol would be far more authentic and credible if the judges were people with deep musical knowledge—artists such as: Atif Aslam, who is internationally recognized for his vocals and musical versatility. Abida Parveen, a legend whose voice, experience, and mastery of Sufi music are simply unmatched. Ali Zafar, who is not only a singer but also a composer and musician with years of experience in the industry. These are the kinds of experts who can truly guide newcomers, identify real talent, and give contestants the technical feedback they need to grow.
