Description

Numerous Black-tipped leafhoppers (Bothrogonia ferruginea, family Tettigellidae) took off one after another from the bushy vegetation to escape from me as I walked along an overgrown mountain trail and disturbed them. The wingbeats in emergency takeoff were also recorded at 240-fps high-speed movie or 8x slow-motion (0:36-). Captured in the sunny early-afternoon (around 12:35 PM) of mid-September 2024 in Japan.
