Belgian MEP Marc Botenga Criticizes EU's Middle East Policy

Marc Botenga, Member of the European Parliament from the Belgian Labor Party spoke to CGTN Europe. He criticized the EU for ignoring human rights violations in the Middle East and supporting illegal wars. He highlighted the hypocrisy of the EU in selectively applying international law and calls for the EU to stand up for its principles, act upon them, and diversify its relations. He believed there is growing public pressure on the EU to reject US imperialism and not be complicit in the oppression of Palestinians or the bombing of UN peacekeepers in Lebanon.
