Local Connections - Angela's story

Angela became reclusive after suffering from severe depression and anxiety. She was reticent about her feelings around others and did not seek help. However, her life changed when she connected with the psychiatrist at the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local in Brimbank. Angela then met Tam, who she worked with to address her feelings of loneliness and social isolation as part of the Local Connections program. Local Connections is an initiative being trialled through select Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals to helping people develop meaningful connections and a sense of belonging. Angela is now flourishing in her community. She is an active member of the Local Connection program, often helping her fellow participants feel comfortable and supported.
