Most of the time with putting I think that most of it will come down to feel and pretty much whether you can align yourself up with where you think you are aiming but there is a couple of things that can definitely help if you are struggling . One of those is the set up and more precisely the ball position at set up . A lot of people play their putter further back or in the middle of their stance and this causes most of the time a downward strike which actually isn’t always the worst thing but it does make it more difficult to hit the ball where it wants to be hit which is in its equator . Moving the ball further forward and under the left eye for right handed players can make it much easier to hit up on the ball and just all round helps with putting a better stroke on it thats going to see a better roll .
