A warm welcome to Leipzig, Martín Demichelis! 🔴⚪️ Following his announcement as our new head coach last week, the 45-year-old Argentine has now physically arrived at Cottaweg in high spirits and with a big smile on his face. While the team’s new season officially kicks off on July 11th with performance diagnostics, "Micho" took the opportunity to get a first overview of his new working environment. After traveling through the night from Mallorca, he used his first day to meet the initial members of the staff and dive straight into the most important topics. However, Demichelis’ preparation didn't just start in Leipzig. Over the past few days in Mallorca, he had already been intensely focused on his new role. Now, the direct exchange at Cottaweg begins: with the sporting management, club officials, and a clear focus on the central question of how the Red Bulls will kick off their pre-season. A major focus during this time is squad planning. Together with Marcel Schäfer (Managing Director for Sport) and Sebastian Schuppan (Sporting Director), Demichelis is working on the sporting foundations for the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Demichelis’ coaching staff has also been finalized: Stefan Buck, Cristian Fiél, and Mariano Cambursano are reinforcing the Red Bulls for the new 2026/27 season and will serve as assistant coaches to "Micho."
