January 1998. Dee Kramer and I packed the Sony Handycam and headed over to one of Western Australia's most iconic destinations—Rottnest Island. Over a few unforgettable summer days we spent our time snorkelling in the crystal-clear water, exploring the island by bike, and, being two young blokes in our twenties... trying our luck meeting girls! This wasn't a travel vlog. There was no YouTube, no Instagram, no smartphones and definitely no GoPros. Just a Sony Handycam, a backpack full of tapes, and whatever adventures came our way. Looking back nearly 30 years later, this footage has become a genuine time capsule of what a Rottnest holiday felt like in the late 90s.
