Big tech whisteblower #meta

Big Tech is on trial in the US, with thousands of people suing social media companies for endangering their children. In March, a jury ruled that platforms including Meta’s Facebook and Instagram, and Google’s YouTube, are deliberately addictive and harmful to children. Both companies are appealing. TikTok and Snapchat settled out of court. In Australia, the federal government has recently announced penalties for companies who breach the landmark teen social media ban will be doubled. The maximum penalty will be $99 million.
