2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC EV feels like a proper Benz | First Drive | Driving.ca

#MercedesBenzGLCEV #luxuryEV #luxurySUV We drove the all-wheel-drive (or dual-motor) 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC EV earlier this month, and as I wrote after seeing the zero-emission compact luxury crossover at its global reveal in Stockholm last fall, “the 2026 GLC EV represents the next and arguably the most important step in Mercedes-Benz’s onward march towards electrification.” So, does it live up to those lofty expectations? In a word, yes. Mercedes-Benz designers clearly learned their lesson from the missteps of the EQ brand, the automaker’s initial and ill-fated foray into EVs. Those vehicles had little of that distinctive Mercedes design DNA and aspirational aura, and landed with a thud in dealerships. The new strategy was to produce EVs that look very much like their gasoline-powered counterparts—and that's certainly the case with the GLC EV.
