Is Civ 7 Finally Good Now?

Civilization 7 is over a year old now, and it's been undergoing massive change through the iterative Firaxis Feature Workshop since the beginning of 2026. Let's use some of the WORK-IN-PROGRESS footage from Round 3 of the Workshop to explore the changes to Civilization 7, and how both the new workshopped features, as well as the broader game could change for the better. Civ 7 turned one in Febuary 2026, and with the Test of Time Update scheduled to release in May 2026, now seemed like a good time to take stock and reflect on my feedback - with a focus on categories I'd like to see more tuning: Triumphs, dedications, victories, the UI, peace deals, settlements, maps, resources, age-transitions, and the workshop process. I'll conclude by reflecting on the most common question people asked during the workshop livestreams - which was some variation of: "is it good now?" or "what does this change" or "what does civ 7 still need to improve" or "how can civ 7 improve".
