Magic Carpet Ride: Low Altitude Training from the Open Ramp of an MC-130

Low-level navigation and tactics sorties are a blast for crew members. In the C-130, open the back ramps up, tether yourself to the floor, and dangle your feet over the edge. You experience some pretty big bank as the plane flies through the canyons and hills. I did not get to do this during my career, even though we had Air Force Special Operations Command MC-130s at Kadena.
