Description
Australia seems to be split into two sections at the moment - either pouring with rain, or mostly dry. There are some large dry, or mostly dry, zones over the next week - but surrounding that is heavy tropical rain (100 to 300mm potential) and lines of heavy downpours/thunderstorms, which may start to form around the Great Dividing Range in NSW, and then further south across parts of SA, Vic and maybe TAS around Sunday and Monday. This is still not locked in, but continues to display in the forecasts, although it's worth pointing out that even around these rain areas, there are areas of dry - in other words not everyone in those states will get wet weather, or much of it.
Meanwhile in WA heavy rain continues around Broome, with a lot of low pressure dominating tropical Australia over the coming week.
We also have a 7 day rainfall map, and 7 day heavy rain map, to make sense of it all. We'll update these maps again on Thursday as with any showers/convergence zones they can always move around a bit leading up to it.
