The notorious “Cut-Hand Gang” became infamous for severing victims’ limbs during thefts. This episode traces the gang’s origins to Wenjiang Village in Guangxi—a place where extreme poverty shaped desperate choices. Through the rise of gang leader Zhao Minxian and the youths who followed him, we reveal the social fractures behind the violence and how this dark era finally came to an end.
