State Crime Commander Assistant Commissioner Scott Cook said the public appeal was driven by critical operational priorities. He warned that anyone helping the men avoid law enforcement could be committing a serious criminal offence and should immediately cease providing assistance. Police confirmed that mutual legal assistance processes are underway and that investigators are working closely with federal authorities and international law enforcement partners to have the men returned to New South Wales.
