You Have to See This‼️😱 The Oregon coast tidepools are a full-on survival zone if you stop and look close: hermit crabs will literally form a size-ordered line and “upgrade” their homes in a chain reaction when a better shell shows up.  Sea stars can regrow lost arms, and in some cases an arm can eventually become a whole new sea star if part of the central disk is attached.  And those “flower-looking” anemones? Some can clone themselves by tearing their own bodies in half to make two genetically identical anemones.  Purple shore crabs are built for chaos too. They can handle big swings in salinity and even survive out of water for a while, which is perfect for the constant wet-to-dry tidepool cycle.  #education #science #nature #animals
