Description
On January 27, 2002, just before midnight, three young employees were finishing up their shift at the AMF Broadway Bowling Alley in Littleton, Colorado. 29-year-old James Springer, a father of two who had recently moved from Utah, was working alongside 26-year-old single mother Erin Golla and 23-year-old bowling standout Bobby Zajac, who had dreams of going pro. Around 11:40 pm, Erin called a friend for a ride home. When the friend arrived minutes later, they saw a white, middle-aged bald man in a trench coat leaving the building and getting into a dark pickup truck. Inside the bowling alley, the three employees were found shot to death in a back room. Investigators believe the killer used a handgun and may have been connected to a burglary attempt at the alley a week earlier. Despite releasing a composite sketch and pursuing leads for years, no arrests have been made. In 2021, police announced they were using genetic genealogy to analyze forensic evidence but said they still need more information. A $30,000 reward is being offered for tips leading to an arrest. After more than two decades, the families of James, Erin, and Bobby are still waiting for answers.
