Women Weaving Their Own Paths | A Giving Machines Story

See how sewing materials and business mentoring donated through the Giving Machines are proving women around the world their own source of income. Find the nearest Giving Machine locations for 2023 or donate virtually here: https://bit.ly/3RRFuD3 The Giving Machines, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are vending machines with a twist—instead of buying something for themselves, people can donate a needed item to someone else through a local or international charity. In this case, the Church partnered with Mentors International to help women in Mérida, Mexico start a business. The women received the sewing tools and materials needed to create and sell beautiful, handcrafted hammocks and use the money from the sale to expand their homegrown business. The Giving Machines are part of Light the World, a worldwide movement that encourages people all over the world to join in sharing their light and the light of Jesus Christ with others during the Christmas season.
