Perumbalam Bridge: ആലപ്പുഴയിലെ പെരുമ്പളം ദ്വീപ് നിവാസികളുടെ തലമുറകളായുള്ള കാത്തിരിപ്പിന് വിരാമമിട്ട് പെരുമ്പളം പാലം ഇന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയൻ നാടിന് സമർപ്പിക്കും.വേമ്പനാട് കായലിന് കുറുകെ നിർമ്മിച്ച സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഏറ്റവും നീളമേറിയ പാലമാണ് പെരുമ്പളം പാലം. ഇത് തുറന്നുനൽകുന്നതോടെ നാലുവശവും വേമ്പനാട് കായലിനാൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ട പെരുമ്പളം ദ്വീപ് നിവാസികളുടെ പതിറ്റാണ്ടുകൾ നീണ്ട യാത്രാദുരിതത്തിനാണ് അറുതിയാകുന്നത്. 2016-17 സംസ്ഥാന ബജറ്റിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി കിഫ്ബിയുടെ സാമ്പത്തിക സഹായത്തോടെ 100 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവഴിച്ചാണ് പാലം നിർമിച്ചത്.
