Barred Owl Hunting for Voles in Winter

Spotted this beautiful barred owl while out checking trail cameras. It was actively hunting, moving to a new perch every five or ten minutes, and in the 45 minutes I spent with it, it successfully caught and consumed two voles. Unfortunately, it was too quick on the pounce and flying to a further perch to eat, for me to capture that video footage. Always fun to spend time with one of these birds of prey - and my favourite owl species - the barred owl.
