Penny lives in a 6.6ftx2x2ft DIY enclosure! Despite the size, it’s actually very easy to clean, a couple of times a week I do surface cleaning like sweeping, sitting the sand, removing soiled bedding etc and then monthly I’ll go more deep into where his nest is to check and see if there’s any pee etc I like using white paper bedding so I can see what has been peed on! 💛 Having a proper sized enclosure means you don’t have to fully change out the bedding as this can be super stressful for the hamster and instead only removing soiled areas is necessary ☺️
