This SIMPLE Van Upgrade Went Completely Wrong

When we built this van, we made mistakes… and this is one you lot have been calling out for a long time 😅 In this episode, I finally swap out our Victron Orion and upgrade to a Victron Multiplus in the hope of improving our off-grid power and charging setup. The plan sounded simple: remove the old inverter, get rid of two separate chargers, tidy up the electrics, and make the whole van system work better. But, as usual, nothing is ever that straightforward. What should have been a simple campervan electrical upgrade turned into a full day of crawling around in tight spaces, moving cables, battling with programming issues, discovering that Victron setup tools don’t play nicely with Mac, borrowing a Windows laptop at night, and then realizing the final problem was caused by one very stupid mistake at the campsite… So yes — this one is a proper van life disaster turned success.
