What it's like to get turned into an emote in Destiny.

when i was at bungie checking out renegades, i also got to do something else. way back in my los angeles days, i did a focus group test for 'the last of us,' early in the game's development phase. and some of the final cutscenes were just the videos of the mocap actors in the suits, they hadn't been animated yet. since then, i've always been interested in the technology behind motion capture. so, when bungie told me that i could try it out for a day, it was impossible to say no. and no, i'm not sure any of this would ever actually make it into the game. big thanks to jonathan and charles for what was probably a day of just babysitting some content creators, but i had a lot of fun getting to do this. my wife has been working as a motion capture actor for bungie as well and renegades had the first batch of emotes she ever worked on.
