Description
The 2025 Lincoln Navigator L Reserve costs $113,150 and features a twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 making 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. But here's the problem: Lincoln won't let you access that performance. Seven electronic intervention systems stand between your inputs and the vehicle's response, creating a luxury SUV engineered for isolation over engagement.
This all new Navigator represents a complete redesign with a 48-inch panoramic display, Lincoln Rejuvenate spa features, and continuously controlled damping that adjusts 500 times per second. The adaptive suspension, electric power steering, and 10 speed automatic transmission are all calibrated to protect you from spirited driving, whether you want that protection or not.
At 6,044 pounds, the Navigator L seats seven, tows 8,700 lbs, and competes with the Cadillac Escalade, BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Range Rover. The question isn't whether it's well engineered, it's spectacularly executed. The question is whether you want a $113,000 sanctuary on wheels or a vehicle that communicates with you.
We test the twin turbo V6's real world performance, explore the electronic intervention hierarchy, evaluate steering feel and brake pedal feedback, and determine who this flagship SUV is actually built for.
Spoiler: if you care about chassis communication, Lincoln has politely shown you the door.
