This Grandpa From S. Korea Raised A Wild Boar As His Pet

A grandfather in Haeundae-gu has drawn attention for raising a wild boar named Kkulkkuli, forming an unlikely bond that began when the animal was originally intended as food. After noticing the boar could understand human commands, he grew attached and chose to raise it instead. Now weighing nearly 300 kilograms, Kkulkkuli behaves more like a loyal dog than a wild animal. Each morning, the boar opens the grandfather’s window to wake him and responds to commands like “Lie down” and “Close the window.” The pair take city strolls together, dance side by side and the grandfather even rides on Kkulkkuli’s back. While family members say caring for a 300 kilogram boar is not easy, they respect the deep connection between them.
