Raw Meat and Alcohol with Ethiopian friends | Ethiopian Food

Many Ethiopians eat RAW Meat in Ethiopia- yes, it's really a "thing". in Ethiopian culture, there are a lot of fasting days, so when people are "allowed" to eat meat, they take full advantage of eating as much beef as they can- in fact, many people LOVE eating their beef raw, straight off of the cow. There are many restaurants throughout Ethiopia that specialize in, and only serve their cow beef raw. The main days (when it's not during the fasting season) to eat raw meat is Sunday, and friends gather together to eat the chucks of raw meat- dipped usually in mitmita spices- together. I did suffer a bit the next day, but I heard its because my stomach is not used to it. they say it takes three times of eating raw beef for your body to not reject it.
