Criminal Lawyer Reacts To The Karmelo Anthony Verdict

Try it out today! The Verdict came in for the Anthony Karmelo case and today we're looking at what led to him being found guilty. There were no cameras in the courtroom, but we have quotes and some transcripts from witness testimony. This is a difficult case for a lot of reasons. And my heart goes out to both families - as they both have lost their sons. Like I said in the last video, this case comes down to two things: Were his actions 'reasonable' - and proportionality. Did he kill Austin Metcalf? Yes. Was it self defense? Maybe. Should he have gotten First Degree? Probably not. Karmelo was found guilty and sentenced to 35 years in prison. In Texas you have to serve at least half your sentence before you're eligible for parole. This case is not over though, as appeals are being filed and looks like the Anthony family has hired a new lawyer.
