Description

You Will Not Believe These Jellyfish That Wash Up On The Oregon Coast‼️😱 The Oregon coast gets some absolutely wild jellyfish, and each one has its own story. The red medusa jellyfish is tiny and easy to underestimate, but its delicate pink tentacles are fully armed with stinging cells and can still cause irritation despite its small size. Crystal jellyfish are nearly invisible and glow green under UV light, which is how scientists discovered GFP, a tool now used in medical research worldwide. Pacific sea nettles pack a noticeably stronger sting and use their long trailing tentacles to actively hunt fish instead of just drifting. Moon jellies look harmless, but their mild venom can still cause irritation and rashes in sensitive people. Egg yolk jellyfish are easy to spot thanks to their yellow center and can survive in colder water better than many other species. Lion’s mane jellyfish are the giants here, with tentacles that can stretch over 100 feet long, making them one of the longest animals on Earth. ⚠️ Important disclaimer I am an experienced jellyfish handler and I know my personal reactions to different jellyfish venoms. Jellyfish venom affects everyone differently, and what looks safe for me may not be safe for you. Never attempt to recreate what you see in my videos. These videos are for educational purposes only.
