My first time ever seeing or hearing the Melvins — and what an introduction. Bizarre, explosive, heavy, and totally unmistakable. This performance of Dog Island from Amoeba Records in 2008 absolutely delivers the chaos and weight people always talk about with this band. This request comes from long-time supporter Paul Sharp, who saw my reaction to Big Business and wanted me to experience the era when they merged with the Melvins — two drummers on stage, Coady Willis + Dale Crover, both going flat-out.
