Zack Polanski reveals Greens plan to tax wealthy to allow more money for schools

Education in the UK has been pushed to the brink, the leader of the Greens has said, as he pledged his party would provide more money for schools by taxing the wealthy. Speaking at the National Education Union’s (NEU) annual conference in Brighton, Zack Polanski said we are currently “shrinking” the horizons of young people in the UK rather than expanding their opportunities. Schools need a “serious cash injection” to reverse real-terms cuts since 2010, he said. Mr Polanski added: “We have a plan to tax the extreme wealth being hoarded in this country. “We need to make sure that money can flow around the economy to where it’s really needed, like our schools.” The Green Party leader received a standing ovation from delegates at the end of his speech.
