'A ridiculous situation': Council criticised for painting over potholes (stupidity) 😠 (UK)9/Feb/2026

Hampshire County Council has been criticised for painting road markings over potholes in Basingstoke. Liberal Democrat Councillor Andy Konieczko from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council says Hampshire County Council carried out works on Sullivan Road, near Chalk Ridge Primary School, on the last weekend of January. The councillor for the Brighton Hill ward said the council repainted some road markings without fixing the potholes. Stupid, stupid, stupid idiocy. As this will have to have to be fixed and painted over again at tax payers expense! Someone should be fired or pay for this out of their own pocket!
