Description

Today we’re heading out to see how our new buckskin Appaloosa horse, Taz, handles his first big mountain adventure with us. Reata, our dun mule, is joining along. We ride through some rugged, beautiful country with amazing mountain views, rocky trails, and stumble upon signs of an old geologic upheaval. The 26-mile fault line left behind by the 1983 earthquake is still visible today, and following it on horseback really shows how much damage this earthquake did. Along the way we find a few deer shed antlers, enjoy the quiet of the high country, and wrap up the day by cooking elk tacos over an open fire. Join us for some campfire conversation and please let us know in the comments if you enjoyed this type of video or not :) 🤠 **THANKS FOR RIDING ALONG WITH US!** As always — thank you for watching! **God Bless, and don’t forget to KEEP IT WESTERN 🤠** — Jason and Alyssa # 🐴 START HERE — IMPORTANT LINKS! 👉 **2026 MTN BUILT CALENDARS — AVAILABLE NOW!** https://mtnbuiltmerch.com/products/2026-mtn-built-calendar 👉 **Support the Mission (Donations Welcome!)** https://gofund.me/3ffcac745 👉 **Shop Our Official MTN Built Merch** https://www.mtnbuiltmerch.com 👉 **Amazon WishList — Support Our Herd & Doggos** https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/2UPYTFXAZ53L9 👉 **Subscribe for Weekly Ranch, Mule, Horse & Backcountry Videos!** (*You subscribing genuinely helps our channel grow — thank you!*) # 📩 EMAIL US: [email protected] # ✨ FEATURED VIDEOS (Fan Favorites!) ✨ 1️⃣ **WHAT IS A MULE?** https://youtu.be/urzZj3HpvgA?si=PvxDuxMAXnxUYT5I 2️⃣ **Our Appaloosa Mules Story- Josey!** https://youtu.be/io2OM8SdZMM?si=4AfPmjXQqbbp7qwy 3️⃣ **Our Mustangs First Ride!** https://youtu.be/zePc1ScypTE?si=Ed9DrUZKIcCD3UTL # 🤠 FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES **Instagram — Mules & Ranch Life:** https://www.instagram.com/mtn_built **Facebook:** https://www.facebook.com/people/Mtn-Built **Instagram — Hunting:** https://www.instagram.com/mtn_built_hunts **YouTube — MTN Built Hunts (Our Hunting Channel):** https://www.youtube.com/@mtnbuilthunts # 🐴 TRAIN WITH TY EVANS — MULEMANSHIP **Website:** https://www.tsmules.com **Ty Evans YouTube Channel:** https://www.youtube.com/@tsmules # 📍 VIDEO CHAPTERS 0:00 – Intro: Mountain Ride Adventure With Our New Buckskin Appaloosa & Mule 0:54 – Plans for the Day: Riding to an Abandoned Mine in the Mountains 1:30 – Catching and Loading Horses and Mules for the Trail Ride 2:08 – Meet Our New Horse Taz: Buckskin Appaloosa First Look 2:53 – Feeding the Chickens Before the Ride 3:50 – Sunrise Views, Big Mule Deer Bucks, and Stunning Mountain Scenery 4:19 – Change of Plans: Ice and Snow Make Trail Riding Too Challenging 4:58 – Unloading in a Beautiful Mountain Valley for the Ride 5:23 – New Plan for Our Mountain Trail Ride Adventure 6:45 – Setting Taz Up for Success: Preparing Our New Horse for His First Ride at Home 7:35 – The Story Behind Our Saddle: Jason the Conductor of the Wyoming Railroad 8:45 – Horse Riding Pro Tip: Warm Your Bit So Tongues Don’t Stick 9:12 – Alyssa Rides Mule Reata + Flashback: Costume Contest Highlights 9:56 – Groundwork With Taz: Teaching Him to Stand Still for Mounting 10:38 – Hound Dogs, Scary Water Tanks, and Trail Challenges 13:33 – Steep Mountain Climb: Leading Our Horse and Mule Safely 15:08 – Taz Stood Still to Mount!
