How Banksy Was Doxxed

If you’ve heard the news that Banksy has been exposed, but have avoided reading about it, because you know you’ll just get pissed off… you have found the right video. For those who don’t know, there is a person who is, by any reasonable measure, the most famous living artist in the world. The wealthy elite have bought and sold his art for tens of millions of dollars at some of the most prestigious auction houses on Earth. His murals have changed the economic fate of neighborhoods and local businesses. His views on war, poverty, and political issues have reached more people than many government leaders. And yet, for decades, nobody knew who Banksy was. Sadly, that is not the case today. We know who Banksy is. And many of you probably do too. Or, at least, we all know the name that was published in a major investigation by one of the most well-respected news organizations in the world. Well, at least, they were one of the most well-respected until the public completely turned on them for what they did. But more on that later… All you need to know right now is that we will not be contributing to the doxxing of a man who spray paints anti-establishment imagery on walls. At no point in this video will we be saying Banksy’s birth name or his current legal name. Some of you might be disappointed by this because it’s the whole reason you clicked on the video, and we get that, but hear us out for a second… Knowing his name will tell you absolutely nothing. In fact, withholding Banksy’s past and current legal names from this video only leaves out a total of four words from the script. We made this video so that anyone who is curious, can learn about what happened and how, without feeling like they are complicit in his doxxing or supporting the media companies responsible.
